Meet Dr. Laura, our Clinical Director at The Best Treatment Center
What brought you into the field of addiction treatment?
I came into the field of addiction treatment through my work as a Marriage and Family Therapist earlier in my career. I am focused on caring and loving clients until they begin to love themselves.
When did you become The Clinical Director of The Best Treatment Center?
I started working as the Clinical Director in February of 2018. I have been a Clinical Director since 2008.
What is your main goal for the Clinical Program?
I hope that the clinical program here at The Best Treatment will continue to grow so that we can serve the needs of more and more people who are in need of treatment.
What sets The Best Treatment Center apart from other addiction treatment center facilities and programs?
The center is different from other centers I have worked at because it is smaller and more individualized, meeting the needs of the client. All of the groups at The Best Treatment are conducted by the full time, Masters level therapists and in that way the clients have multiple people invested in their care assisting them in meeting their goals and making the changes necessary to attain and sustain recovery.
What is the most rewarding part of being a part of the Best Treatment Center?
The most rewarding part is seeing a client change from when they first come in to when they leave! It is unbelievable how their thought processes become clearer, they look healthier, and are better able to socially interact with the staff and with each other. They begin to smile and then to laugh and become generally well adjusted to their new way of living.
What is your favorite part of your day?
My favorite part of the day is the daily Staff meetings held each morning where the whole team gets together to formulate a plan to assist the clients in their recovery.
What do you do when you aren’t at The Best Treatment?
I work in private practice and spend time with my children when I am not at The Best Treatment.
What is one thing you would tell someone who is seeking treatment for themselves or their loved ones?
I would tell them to “NEVER GIVE UP” on your yourself or your loved ones! Change is always possible!
